At the end of fall 1988 Gunn was on the road for a year to study at the British American Drama Academy. When she moved from Laurel Canyon Los Angeles she lived in a home with Pamela Adlon. Gunn was known best for her character Skyler in AMC's Breaking drama. The actress was nominated in 2013 and in 2014 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series for her performances. In August 2013 she created an op-ed article for The New York Times examining the general displeasure expressed by the public towards her persona.
