Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England at age sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it when she was 21. She became a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice which offered critiques of politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna's celebrity status began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be the "most influential women" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the head of the AOL media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. When she was in her 16th year she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. She was a journalist television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
