Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website and a television host, author, and charitable donor. Her move out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became the voice of Huffington Post. Her fame led to the recruitment of a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news political, culture and politics. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she became an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their list. The same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. This included many AOL properties at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and a journalist. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother and her bond with her father despite her being very close to her father. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. In her 16th year, she moved to Britain to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the debating society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and an anchor on TV. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
